The main vision of the center is to be a leading example in East Africa by 2030 as a center for Women’s empowerment and training. To achieve this vision, the center is carrying out many activities, especially those who are begging on the streets, working in the sex trade, returning migrants, women who do not have income at home, and those living in low-income areas, by gathering them from all sub-cities, providing them with rehabilitation and various skill training, deploying them in the profession they have trained, and enabling them to live independently by generating income for themselves and their families.
Along with the training, the trainees will be provided with free health care, food service, sports and gym services, clothing and other things in the premises. In addition, each trainee will receive individual and group counseling services, as well as mental health treatment related to their health. This treatment method is being implemented with the aim of helping the trainees to get rid of their addiction, depression, anxiety and restlessness and to lead a stable life after being trained.
I would like to express my gratitude to the Mayor of Addis Ababa, Ms. Adanech Abeibei, who has been working tirelessly to build this center from the idea to its establishment and implementation, and to ensure its success. In this regard, the city administration is paying special attention to supporting this people-oriented project and is allocating a budget to cover all costs. Other non-governmental organizations are also playing a significant role in helping the center operate independently. In this regard, when they complete their training and start working, they create job opportunities; the private sector and non-governmental organizations have played a significant role in providing the establishment budget and necessary equipment, and the center would like to express its gratitude to all these entities.
In general, the center is not only a bright hope for the future of humanity, especially women, by lifting them from their fallen state, but also an institution that is working hard to make it a reality and is working for the future.
Therefore, to all of you who are patriotic and are striving for the prosperity and resurrection of Ethiopia, my dear compatriots living in the country and in various countries of the world: I would like to take this opportunity to convey my message to you, my dear compatriots, to stand united with the center with your knowledge, your money, and your ideas so that this people-oriented work that has begun will not weaken and can achieve its goal.
Thank you
Hirpasa Chala (PhD), at the Level of the Head of the offices, the Director General of the Women’s Rehabilitation and Skill Development Center.
